My knee pain is gone!! Trekking poles are a necessity on the PCT- my knee hasn't hurt since I got them.

Awoke at dawn & continued on. The trail was amazing- miles of trail literally blasted out of the side of the mountain.

Around noon I hit the 1st stretches of snow. Curling around to the north side, I was faced with a large patch of snow covering the trail ahead. Slanted at 45 degrees, all I had to do was follow the steps of those that had already gone through & not think about the single misstep that would result in a 1000-foot fall.

Navigated through the rest of the snowfields to Saddle Junction & took the Devils Slide Trail down to Mt. San Jacinto State Parků

Send Bearcan't an email or sign the guestbook at his photoblog.
I accidentally left my camera in the backseat of the car during my 1st ever hitch. Luckily, the kind folks who gave me a ride, Mr. & Mrs. Gookin, were tracked down via the pct-l email list by the amazing Natalie and they sent my camera ahead to Big Bear. Thank you! So, no photos are available between May 23rd - May 30th.
