Washington
Starting: Section I15 - Snoqualmine Pass
Ending:  Section J2 - Lemah Creek

A quick breakfast of french toast & coffee before hitting the trail. I was feeling rested and ready to go. The weather was absolutely perfect: crystal clear skies and temperatures in the 60s. Lots of day & weekend hikers on the trail - everyone commented on the glorious conditions & amazing views.

This section reminds me of the Sierras - steep rugged peaks, rocky terrain & blue alpine lakes. The only things missing are snow & meadows.

During my late afternoon break above Park Lakes I saw 2 approaching southbound hikers. The hiker in front looked very familiar...no...it couldn't be...Drew! I hadn't seen Drew (now trail named Tabasco) in almost 2,000 miles & had hoped he was still hiking. He had flipped to Canada at Ashland & expects to finish in early November. It was really good to see him.

I continued on for another couple hours before camping beside Lemah Creek. More big climbs tomorrow...
