Washington
Starting: Section J8 - Skykomish
Ending:  Section K2 -  West Shoulder of Grizzly Peak

4th perfect weather day in a row, but who's counting.

Had the usual town routine - breakfast, picked up my box at the PO, mailed out another memory card & generally took my time getting back to the trail.

Took 45 minutes to get a hitch back up to Steven's Pass. Got a ride from a husband & wife who are also regional sales reps together.

The climbs continued where they left off - up to the Cascade Divide & on the crest to Grizzly Peak. Gorgeous. This section looks to be even more beautiful then the last, if that is possible.

I need to decide how to handle the upcoming Glacier Peak reroute. In 2003, 10 inches of rain fell on already saturated ground resulting in massive landslides & flooding. It will be years before the trail is repaired. I am leaning towards taking Jonathan Ley's proposed alternate rather then the official USFS route.

Camped early on an east-west saddle. Hope the early rays of the sun help to get me out of bed before 8 am...
