Starting: Section C10 - Little Bear Springs Trail Camp
Ending:  Section C13 - Deep Creek Hot Springs

Had my 1st trail injury today: took a 50 mph pinecone to the face. It is all Kevinís (1/2 of The Baked Alaskans) fault. He showed us how to play Pinecone Wars.

The game is simple: as you hike by fallen pinecones, stab 1 with a trekking pole hard enough so it sticks, then whip the pole & it goes flying off with amazing speed.

After wiping off the blood, we finished our mandatory 20 miles & arrived at Deep Creek Hot Springs in the early evening. We all soaked in the 102-degree water, ate our noodles, and then camped without tents on the sandy beach. The clear moonless sky was a stargazers dream...
