Southern California
Starting: Section D9 - Ridgetop vista point
Ending:  Section D12 - North Fork Ranger Station

Another cold & windy night on a ridge- I guess that is the price for incomparable views.

Started walking by 7am. We were in a hurry to do the 6 miles to Mill Creek Ranger Station & water (I was down to only 1/2 liter).

Ran into David, an Australian hiker we met in Wrightwood, who was feeling a little 'crook' (Australian for sick). He had also gone over Baden-Powell & it had taken a lot out of him.

Arrived at Messenger Flat Campground early & decided to push for North Fork Ranger Station making this another 24-mile day.

The final 4 miles hurt- a long, jarring descent down a series of switchbacks with loose rock all over the trail. The perfect terrain to really pound the feet. My 'dogs were barking' by the time we rolled into camp at 4:30 pm.

Dinner: a pot of mac'n'cheese & tortillas, wishing I had some more Snickers Bars. Have to settle for a shot of bourbon. Or two.

Only 18 miles to the Saufley's in Agua Dulce...
