Central California
Starting: Section G11 - 10,000 foot saddle
Ending:  Section G13 - CORRAL junction sign

What an amazing place. The Sierras have it all: snow covered peaks, lush green meadows, forests of huge pines, ice cold snow melt streams. Words & photographs cannot do it justice- you have to experience in person.

The Sierras also have something else, something not so pleasant: mosquitoes. Huge swarms of the bloodthirsty insects. While filtering water this evening (a 5 minute job) I was enveloped by the little buggers & was bitten 4 times THROUGH MY SKI CAP!

The miles were a little slow today- the incredible views & altitude slowed us down. We all felt run down after spending the night above 10,000 feet.

I wonder what tomorrow will bring...
