Northern California
Starting: Section O6 - Rocky point w/ a view
Ending:  Section O8 - Bald Mountain Road

I spent most of the day planning on writing a journal entry defending the often-maligned Section O of the PCT. I was going to say the trail isn't THAT overgrown & the poison oak isn't THAT bad. Then I started the climb out of Ash Camp & my opinion of Section O changed. Drastically.

The CCC currently has crews out in Section O clearing the trail. A good start, but they still have a lot of work to do. It is a shame that the trail is in such bad condition since the section itself is beautiful with stunning views of Mt. Shasta & a few stands of old growth.

Once again I find myself waiting & hoping that the horrific rash of poison oak does not appear...
