Happy Birthday Dad! Hope your day was better then mine.

Woke up feeling rather sick. I thought it was just the effects of a big mile day followed by a horrible night sleep on slanted ground.

As the day progressed, mild nausea & a gassy, bloated feeling gave way to INDUSTRIAL strength diarrhea. Note to self: bring more toilet paper (yes, I ran out, don't ask me what I used instead).

Other news- saw my 4th, 5th, & 6th bears today, a mother bear and 2 tiny cubs. Mama began making low grunting noises when she saw me & this made the cubs climb an enormous doug fir. Note to self: bears can climb trees, no, seriously, they can CLIMB trees!

Camped early tonight, just 14 miles from Etna summit where I will hitch into town. It has been 10 days since I last showered- I wonder if my B.O. is making me sick...
